Additional Information

NOTE: All our authentic reproductions of brass and black radiators are show quality. They are available with either round or flat tube cores. Both styles look the same except for the core. The original style round tube core radiators are duplicates of the original ones used on Model T Fords and are recommended for show cars and owners who want everything “correct” on their car. The modern style flat core radiators offer more efficient cooling and are recommended for cars on hot days, on long tours, used in parades or on speedsters. Both styles are made in USA.

This original style radiator core has drawn ROUND TUBES made of copper for more efficient heat transfer over seamed brass round tubes. (The flat tube, modern style core radiator for this year is part# 3924F)

Features of the 1917-1923 Model T Low Style Radiator include:

  • Tellurium copper fin core with 6 fins per inch
  • Round drawn copper tubes that conduct heat 4 times faster than the seamed brass original design
  • Galvanized steel bar runs through lower part of core for support
  • Die stamped three piece brass top tanks with model correct die stampings
  • Drawn brass bottom tanks with relief for crank
  • Galvanized steel sidewalls to resist rust
  • Brass overflow tube formed with same radius as stock
  • Cast red brass rod support
  • Internal baffle in top tank to prevent cooling loss
  • Properly offset cast red brass inlet
  • Polished nickel plated filler neck (Chrome available upon request)
  • Hood mount tabs
  • Painted flat black to aid in heat exchange
  • Made in the USA

Lang’s Tech Tip: How to determine the difference between Low and High radiators. Ford transitioned from low style to high style halfway through 1923. Confirm your core height measurement before ordering a radiator. (The height of the core does not include the radiator shell or apron)

  • The 1917-23 Low Radiators have a core height measurement of 17”.
  • The 1923-27 High Radiators have a core height measurement of 18-3/8”.

Questions and Answers
Which radiator is better, flat or round tube.

The flat tube radiator offers more cooling surface and more cooling performance for the model t. The round is made like the original and we recommend them for show cars.
