When adjusting the three clutch fingers through the inspection cover of the transmission. gap of 13/16" between clutch shift collar and the drive plate flange. This handy tool allows you to adjust the three clutch finger screws through the transmission cover door to the proper clearance gap of 13/16”. Very difficult to do without this tool.

Where do I find the instructions for using the 3339 Transmission Clutch Gap Tool?
 

They talk about how to use it in the "Rebuilding the Ford Power Plant" book. The gap guage is used to adjust the three screws for the clutch fingers. You use the guage next to the finger when you adjust the set screw to get even preshure on the clutch disc. The length of the guage is the distance that the tail shaft flange to the clutch shift collar. Thank You Steve
